Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American author, syndicated writer of columns as well as a businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at 16 years old. In Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to hold the position of president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take on the role. The success of her conservative columnist was consolidated after she finished her degree. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online platform for voice that gave critiques of the state of the nation's politics. The fame she gained helped her to convince several celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the political and culture. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes named her the most powerful female in the media industry in 2009. Her ranking was 12th on the ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of top 100 media for 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as president of the media group, which also included other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management.
